Very nice. There’s a great book called, “Mistakes were Made but Not by Me,” and despite the title, it covers a wide range of examples of cognitive dissonance and the brain’s auto-response system, self-justification. Combine that with tribalism, and the brain actually self-reinforces in its beliefs when presented with arguments to the contrary. So you’re absolutely right…change must come from within. I only hope it doesn’t take complete climate disaster to spur that. Perhaps tackling tribalism would be easier…although I admit I have no ideas as long as social media continues to produce an echo chamber!
