Really powerful piece. I nearly highlighted the whole thing. I agree, so many people simply can’t process what their loved one did, whether to them or to another, and so they rationalize it. Our society enables narcissism, sociopathy, and psychopathy (Cluster B) while teaching us to sweep shame under the rug.
