I’m not the best at actually doing this and am guilty of using the auto-generated tweets, but I’ve heard of a couple of techniques:

  • Use a pull quote from the article, one that’s intriguing, and include your header image and link.
  • Create a Twitter thread with several of your main sentences.
  • Share the behind-the-scenes story of writing the article. Instagram-worthy coffee shots can help.

You are right, though. I see so many great headlines, but without a little context, it’s sometimes hard to know which link I should click on! I’d love to spend all day reading on Medium, but alas, I do not have a Time Turner.
