I was a huge fan of the hot bar and salad bars at places like Lucky’s Market and Whole Foods. And I saw disgusting things, like people using the ladle to sip soup, then placing it back in the vat. But then, I’ve always played fast and loose with my health. The pandemic is making me re-think things, though. I’m not sure I’ll give up buffets forever: I hope that enough people are learning to wash their damn hands (which they apparently didn’t do before COVID-19). Then again, this is humanity we’re talking about.
