I really love this very thorough and insightful piece. Self-esteem seems so out of reach may days…self-compassion is entirely attainable if one is willing to pursue it. One exercise I’ve used is to look yourself in the mirror, directly in the eyes, and say, “I forgive you,” “I love you,” and/or “You are awesome.” It’s surprisingly difficult and emotional, but if you make it a habit, it works!
