I just wrote a piece that discusses how people often respond to feminism with racist remarks that it’s “worse in THOSE countries.” It’s an alarming trend among those who insist that “manhood” is under attack while ignoring real problems in favor of manufactured arguments. And as you note, when we receive comments like this, it’s pretty clear that they didn’t read your piece. I had a comment on my review of “Bird Box” — actually the only non-feminist film review I’ve posted—screaming at me about feminism, even though I actually didn’t mention feminism or women’s issues at all in my review.

I’m really appreciate of your essay, and I learned a few things, for example, that the new Star Wars movies might not be as divisive as we think. I wonder, though, what does it say about us that we believe we are so divided? What is the way forward?
