As a woman with disabilities, I too am disgusted by this baseless celebration of “adulting” portrayed as, as you call it, a Herculean feat. And as a white woman, I appreciate you sharing your experience. I can imagine how “adulting” was simply something that was expected for POC, especially female POC. I’m honestly embarrassed by the white people who expect praise for doing the dishes while never stopping to think about what it’s like for people who didn’t have so many benefits growing up.
