I'm a writer and anthropologist based in Orlando, Florida. After a childhood spent at science fairs or 4-H camps and buried in books and National Geographics, I earned my master's in anthropology from the University of Florida. As an active participant in community nonprofits and educational organizations, I have fully embraced my geeky side — along with my addiction to fair-trade dark roasts and dank IPAs.
I've worked with a variety of organizations as a storyteller and content creator, focusing on changing the world through creative works. A lifetime student of Earth and its denizens, I write nonfiction, reported essays, and critiques on the topics of cultural history, film and media, economic disparities, health, and science.
In my spare time, I enjoy aerial dance, theme parks, craft beer, gardening, and kayaking (though not all at the same time).
